Coate Water Care is a family business with three care homes in Swindon, Wiltshire.

"We understand the importance of providing a safe, supportive and respectful environment for the elderly. "

"We will all, hopefully, live
to a good age and we treat everyone in the same way we ourselves would like to be treated."

(Geraldine Smith Director - Coate Water Care Co. Ltd)

Chris, Geraldine and their two sons take an active role in running the homes. Jamie is a qualified Care Manager, and Nick is responsible for the maintenance of all buildings.

The family have been involved in providing care since 1995 beginning with a small care home in Old Town, Swindon. They quickly gained a great reputation for quality care and within eighteen months they acquired Four Seasons, in Rodbourne Cheney.

In the Millennium year, they decided that the old building that housed their first home could not meet their ever increasing demands of raised standards, so they purchased Ashbury Lodge, and after a carefully planned operation, moved Residents and staff from the small home into the newer, spacious building. This increased their residential accommodation from 29 to 59 in total, excluding day care.

Then in April 2008, they purchased what is now Downs View Care Centre, near Chiseldon, a 51 bed home, bringing  the present total to 110.

They have invested heavily in the properties, and in the staff that run them to provide a safe, comfortable and caring environment for our elder generation.

As well as the Care Managers at each home, Polly, Amanda and Jan, to help the whole operation run as smooth as possible, they are assisted by Maureen in Administration, and Lydia in Accounts

As Geraldine said - "We understand the importance of providing a safe, supportive and respectful environment for the elderly. We will all, hopefully, live to a good age and we treat everyone in the same way we ourselves would like to be treated."

"...And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count.

It's the life in your years..."
